Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Telford, you must be at least 21 years old, although some vehicles may have different age restrictions and additional fees for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit must also be provided. Please refer to the Rental Agreement for any further requirements.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Telford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The full payment and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is necessary to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. It is important to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please contact us as soon as possible, as late return fees may apply. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, in addition to an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may help lower your financial liability, so reviewing these is beneficial. You remain accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless additional coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse is your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in other risky behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must be used for its intended purpose, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside the agreed geographical boundaries without prior authorization is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Telford will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our liability for any claim is capped at the total rental amount you paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
Governing Law in Telford
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
