Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or when picking up your vehicle. This agreement outlines key terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire Telford, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required and must have been held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, you must present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with valid payment details and a security deposit. Any further requirements will be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Telford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pick-up. All pricing is displayed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through established payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refuelling fees will apply if this is not met. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please inform us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or related charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All car rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You will find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts outlined in your Rental Agreement. There are options for additional insurance that can help lower your financial responsibility. It's advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless you opt for extra coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance provisions.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities or purposes is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky behaviors is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized individuals to drive it is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. The vehicle must only be used for its intended purpose and within specified passenger and weight limits. Travel beyond the agreed geographical areas requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Telford is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to claims related to death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in these regions.
10. Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
